Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Omaha, NE)

Westbrook Timber Housing manages affordable housing communities across Omaha. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Omaha. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around repair requests against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with rent assistance. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Omaha. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
