Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Oakland, CA)

Clearpath Sable Water Authority Partners is a public water utility serving the Oakland area, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Safety and public health guide our decisions. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with treatment plant data. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Oakland. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
