Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Oakland, CA)

Northwind Willow Community Partners is a Oakland charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 59 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to benefits enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around food distribution against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
