Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Oakland, CA)

Northwind Kestrel Construction builds commercial and industrial projects around Oakland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Good people move up quickly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around materials orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with project schedules. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
