Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Oakland, CA)

Redstone Lantern Housing manages affordable housing communities across Oakland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 23 people based in Oakland. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around rent assistance against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to lease compliance, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with lease compliance. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
