Accountant - revenue reconciliation (New Orleans, LA)

Fernwood Juniper Inspection Services Group provides independent inspection and testing for industry across New Orleans, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 176 people based in New Orleans. What you will do • Track costs around field inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with equipment calibration.
