Accountant - revenue reconciliation (New Orleans, LA)

Bright Sparrow Telecom Group builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the New Orleans area, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with billing accounts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
