Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Nashville, TN)

Cedar Vista Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Nashville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 398 people based in Nashville. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to treatment plant data, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
