Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Nashville, TN)

Clearpath Ember Water Authority operates treatment plants and pipelines around Nashville, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around pipe repairs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with meter reading. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Nashville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
