Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Minneapolis, MN)

Fernwood Hollow Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Minneapolis presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 142 people based in Minneapolis. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to event logistics, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Minneapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
