Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Minneapolis, MN)

Northwind Bright Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for meter reading, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Crews and office staff work closely together. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter reading, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with meter reading. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Minneapolis. • We reply to every applicant.
