Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Milwaukee, WI)

Bright West Transit Planning Group plans bus and rail service for cities around Milwaukee, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service alerts, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Milwaukee. • We reply to every applicant.
