Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Louisville, KY)

Cedar Vale Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Louisville and nearby communities, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Our work is invisible when it goes well, and we are proud of that. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with water quality. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Louisville. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
