Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Jacksonville, FL)

Cedar Cobalt Insurance sells home, auto and small-business insurance in Jacksonville. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Track costs around customer complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Jacksonville. • We reply to every applicant.
