Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Indianapolis, IN)

Harborlight Quarry Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Indianapolis. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 11 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with collection routes. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
