Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Indianapolis, IN)

Westbrook Fern Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Indianapolis, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Technicians and office staff share information daily. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field visits, and clear open items. • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field visits. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Indianapolis, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
