Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Houston, TX)

Clearpath Umber Legal Group is a Houston practice with attorneys, paralegals and client-service staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 309 people based in Houston. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around billing records against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with court deadlines. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
