Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Houston, TX)

Cedar Thistle Auto Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for service appointments, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 141 people based in Houston. What you will do • Track costs around parts orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service appointments, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
