Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Houston, TX)

Silverline Lakeside Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for hardship programmes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to hardship programmes, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Houston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
