Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Hartford, CT)

Cedar Kestrel Financial is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for payment disputes, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to payment disputes, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Hartford, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
