Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Hartford, CT)

Lumen Corner Early Learning Group operates neighbourhood childcare around Hartford. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with meal programmes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Hartford. • We reply to every applicant.
