Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Hartford, CT)

Northwind Harbor Environmental Services Associates is an environmental-services company in Hartford with routes, transfer stations and recycling, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 434 people based in Hartford. What you will do • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
