Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Hartford, CT)

Northwind Rook Staffing places workers with employers around Hartford. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Speed and follow-up matter. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to candidate screening, and clear open items. • Track costs around client orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with candidate screening. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Hartford, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
