Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Detroit, MI)

Lumen Lakeside Foods produces packaged foods at its Detroit plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 35 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer specifications, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Detroit. • We reply to every applicant.
