Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Detroit, MI)

Bluepeak Quarry Farms Partners grows and distributes produce from farms near Detroit. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
