Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Des Moines, IA)

Foxglove Keystone Environmental Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for landfill records, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with landfill records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
