Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Des Moines, IA)

Rivermark Timber Housing is a nonprofit housing provider in Des Moines. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with maintenance stores. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
