Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Des Moines, IA)

Fernwood Wren Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Des Moines. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Track costs around supply orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
