Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Des Moines, IA)

Foxglove Keystone Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Des Moines with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service complaints, and clear open items. • Track costs around recycling loads against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with service complaints. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
