Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Columbus, OH)

We are growing our team at Northwind Lantern Insurance and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 475 people based in Columbus. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Columbus. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
