Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Colorado Springs, CO)

Redstone Ember Housing is a nonprofit housing provider in Colorado Springs, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Collaboration with local agencies is constant. What you will do • Track costs around maintenance stores against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident services, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with resident services. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Colorado Springs. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
