Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Chicago, IL)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Corner Markets and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. Managers started on the floor. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to store inventory, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with store inventory. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
