Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Charlotte, NC)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Keystone Transit Planning and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service alerts, and clear open items. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with service alerts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Charlotte. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
