Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Charleston, SC)

Ironwood Clear Energy is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for meter readings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around hardship programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Charleston. • We reply to every applicant.
