Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Charleston, SC)

Fernwood Basin Facilities cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Charleston. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around safety inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with contractor visits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
