Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Charleston, SC)

Silverline Beacon Press produces print and digital publications in Charleston. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around bindery work against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with print quotes. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Charleston. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
