Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Buffalo, NY)

Amberfield Quill Foods produces packaged foods at its Buffalo plant, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 986 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to production batches, and clear open items. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with production batches. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Buffalo, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
