Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Boston, MA)

Bluepeak Meadow Water Authority is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for water quality, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to water quality, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with water quality. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
