Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Boston, MA)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Birch Hospitality and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to reviews and feedback, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around group events against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with reviews and feedback. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
