Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Birmingham, AL)

Nova Glen Banking Services is a regional lender in Birmingham with branches and a growing mobile service. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to loan files, and clear open items. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with loan files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
