Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Birmingham, AL)

Harborlight Stone Arts Center Group is an arts centre in Birmingham with a full calendar of events. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 122 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
