Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Birmingham, AL)

Cedar Ivory Inspection Services is an inspection company in Birmingham with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a small organisation of about 12 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with field inspections. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Birmingham, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
