Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Birmingham, AL)

Cedar Ivory Inspection Services is an inspection company in Birmingham with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with test reports. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
