Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Birmingham, AL)

Lumen Pike Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Birmingham, and we need an Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of about 533 people based in Birmingham. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with enrolment. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Birmingham. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
