Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Austin, TX)

Westbrook Quarry Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Austin presenting exhibitions and performances. We are hiring an Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visitor services, and clear open items. • Track costs around exhibitions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
