Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Anchorage, AK)

Redstone Harbor Transit Planning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 500 people based in Anchorage. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around ridership counts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with route schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Anchorage. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
