Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

Nova North Property Management Group looks after rental homes across the Wichita area, and we need an Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 193 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Track costs around vendor invoices against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with resident events.
