Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

Ironwood Meadow Press prints books, catalogues and packaging from its Wichita plant. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. We like people who notice details. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around print quotes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with proofing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Wichita. • We reply to every applicant.
