Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

Redstone Meridian Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Wichita area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 113 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field visits. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
