Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Stone Care Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around visit scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to family communication, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
